Rare or Localised Historical value These tree are the first specimens imported into Australia.In June 1879, Mr George Cunnack, a tanner from Castlemaine, had two Wardian cases made up in London and sent to Smyrna, Turkey, where acorns and 20 rooted plants were collected and sent to Australia.
